The Seven House
This is a design exploration. It was not built, but rather was developed to study an idea.

The goal was to take the elements of traditional home construction, break them apart and then re-assemble them into a contemporary form that could fit comfortably into an established neighbourhood:
• The concrete foundation wall on one side is extended upward three floors, with openings for windows;
• The traditional sloped roof is tilted past 45 degrees to form both the roof and a side wall;

• Windows have divisions similar to traditional patterns, but are made of metal curtain wall frames; and

• The wood balcony, which also forms the porch roof, is an updated version of the traditional projecting bay.
